“AG Racine Leads Bipartisan Coalition in Suing Google Over Deceptive Location Tracking Practices That Invade Users’ Privacy”

“Attorney General Karl A. Racine today sued Google, LLC for deceiving and manipulating consumers to gain access to their location data, including making it nearly impossible for users to stop their location from being tracked. Three other attorneys general also plan to file lawsuits in their own state courts in a bipartisan, coordinated effort to hold Google accountable for misleading and violating the privacy of its users. Tom sends above from 16th and Newton St, NW: “The driver tried to turn their car on and leave but it wasn’t moving at all. The fire and police came as the person saw them he fled the scene. The person driving the car came back in another car when the fire department left and grabbed some items and left as the cops were coming onto the scene.”

Update: Shooting Homicide around 8pm at Georgia and Euclid St, NW

Update from MPD:

“Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a homicide that occurred on Wednesday, January 19, 2022, in the 2500 block of Georgia Avenue, Northwest.

At approximately 8:04 pm, members of the Third District responded to the listed location for the report of the sounds of gunshots. Upon arrival, members located an adult female victim, inside of a vehicle, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and transported the victim to area hospital. Despite all life-saving efforts, the victim was pronounced dead.

The decedent has been identified as 27 year-old Sierra Johnson, (more…)

Shooting around 7:30pm in Brightwood Park and 1:40am in Brightwood

“The Fourth District is currently (7:35pm) investigating a shooting that occurred in the 5400 block of Georgia Ave NW. The victim sustained a gunshot wound to the lower body and was transported to an area hospital. The 5400-5500 block of Georgia Ave NW will be temporarily closed while MPD investigates.
