“Dear PoPville,

I wanted to warn the other young women of the Dupont Circle/ lower AdMo area (approx. New Hampshire and Riggs) of a man that assaulted me, and other women in the area over the weekend.

He came up from behind me on foot, grabbed my butt, tried to grab under my jacket, feeling around for my belt line/waist area. It lasted all of about 45 seconds before I started screaming loud enough that people noticed and he walking off by foot. (more…)

Initial report from MPD: “Alert: Armed Robbery Investigation in the block of 400 K Street NW. Lookout for (3) B/M 5’5-6’0″ wearing all black and armed with riffles and handguns. Last seen in a Black sedan (possibly a Buick) Eastbound on K Street NW.”

“Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s First District seek the public’s assistance in identifying suspects and a vehicle in reference to an Armed Robbery of an Establishment (Gun) offense that occurred on Sunday, February 6, 2022, in the 400 block of K Street, Northwest.

At approximately 9:29 pm, the suspects entered an establishment at the listed location. One of the suspects approached an employee and demanded money while brandishing a firearm. Two additional suspects also produced firearms. (more…)

Update on the D Light Cafe fire from DC Fire and EMS:

“#DCsBravest Fire investigation Unit has made an arrest related to an incendiary fire Jan. 27 at 1875 18th St. NW, a commercial establishment. A joint investigation with @DCPoliceDept led to the identification of the subject, who is charged with arson.

#DCsBravest thank the community for assistance with information that led to the identification of this individual. Arson is a dangerous crime that can cause serious injuries and death, as well as major property damage.”

“Today, Mayor Muriel Bowser, Prince George’s County Executive Angela Alsobrooks, DC Police Chief Robert J. Contee III, and Prince George’s County Police Chief Malik Aziz announced enhanced efforts to combat recent regional carjacking offenses. The cross border initiative between DC and Prince George’s County will focus on greater communication and public awareness around carjackings. There will be an increase in investigative support with additional detectives on the carjacking task force and an expansion of intelligence sharing to address the uptick in carjackings. (more…)
