Lou’s City Bar’s new tasting program is thrilled to welcome Toppling Goliath Brewing Company, founded in 2009 in Decorah, Iowa, for our second virtual tasting event. Toppling is world-renowned for their IPAs and barrel-aged stouts, including being named the #2 brewery in the world by Beer Advocate and boasting the #1 beer in the world since 2015.

“Alright guys, the time has come to help out our beloved @lucky.bar.dc . They haven’t asked for us to do this, but @potockikevin has been going to watch matches there and talking with Paul, they are in a tough spot.

Ourselves, @capcityblues and DC Armoury have put our rivalries aside and we are doing some Lucky Bar merch to help raise some funds to go into their pocket. It won’t be much, but it’s a start.

Looks Like the Airedale has Permanently Closed in Columbia Heights

A few readers have been writing in about the Airedale: “the airedale in Columbia Heights has closed for good per sources.”

I think the Airedale is permanently closed. I tried to go there for outdoor drinks on Friday, July 31, and one of the staff was out front with all of the tables turned on their sides. I asked if they were closed, and they said yeah, permanently. (more…)

“We’ve secured sidewalk and street lanes for outdoor dining up at the Quarry House. It will be a fairly substantial cafe seating area wrapping the corner of Georgia and Bonifant, with a large portion composed of a closed off parking lane on Bonifant which will be tented and beer garden-y.
