The flier says:

“Fantastic Renovation. Very large home with 5 bedrooms, 4 1/2 baths. Total of 3050sf, 2250sf above grade and 800 sf below, completely finished. Tax record does not reflect recent additions. Custom kitchen, oak flooring, multi-level deck with master suite private access, professional landscaping, detached garage.”

More info, photos and a virtual tour found here.

This house seems to be a complete renovation. So what do you think of the renovation and what do you think of the price which just squeaks under house porn status (arbitrarily set by me at $1 mil) at $984,500? Now I do think this a super sweet location. And it also seems like a big house with 5 beds and 4.5 baths. But answer me this, if it was a complete renovation – how come they painted the outside pink?

Welcome to the second edition of PoPtrekker. In case you missed it, you can see Vol. 1 here. Vol. 2 features Georgia Avenue from the Petworth Metro down to Florida Avenue. The idea for this video resulted from the numerous conversations I’ve had with folks who are terrified of Georgia Ave. I wanted to show that Georgia Avenue is a street like any other (during the day) and there are many spots well worth checking out. I look a bit chewed up in the beginning of the video, so allow me to explain. We filmed this edition after a two night visit to the 9:30 club from one of my favorite bands, the Drive by Truckers. Suffice it to say, I properly represented…I’d like to apologize to the deaf community because I was unable to get a transcript of the video. Does anyone know of any non profits that do transcripts for free? This remains a joint Prince of Petworth/Intangible Arts production. If you have a suggestion for a future PoPtrekker please email me directly.

You can talk about whatever is on your mind – quality of life issues, a beautiful tree you spotted, scuttlebutt, or any random questions/thoughts you may have. I’ll open this thread every Monday and Friday. So anything good happen to you this weekend?

Seems like a step in the right direction!  Do you guys think the four key areas “home improvement contractors, towing companies, auto repair shops, and used car lots” are the areas where consumer protection should be focused?  What do you think of the site?

From an email:

“On Monday, we are launching a new Website – consumer.dc.gov – and really pushing consumer protection in four key areas – home improvement contractors, towing companies, auto repair shops and used car lots. We’ve shut down a ton of illegal used car lots in the past three months and are adding new areas to clean up.  It’ll have a new data feeds, we’ll post all the bad actors, it has a Twitter aggregator, Facebook page, blogger room with special videos, badges, podcasts and other goodies all on .gov server. A ton of firsts for dc.gov there. Would love to hear some input and see what you and your readers think.
We are collecting stories, tips, complaints to feature and posted people’s stories in video form on the site, You Tube, Facebook, etc. The complaints we’ll research and see if we can help in anyway. If not, we want other people to share their stories and lessons learned, rather than just posting a top 10 “do not do this.””

I caught the tasting at, 5th and M Streets, NW, a bit on the late side on Sat. afternoon but still had a great time talking with some of the neighbors in the area. And the margaritas were pretty sweet too. It also made my walk home that much more fun…

This one doesn’t look like much at first glance but if you take a closer look you can see some really cool details. I suspect it’s a super old one. I think with a good shellacking it’ll look pretty fresh.

Here’s a wild one. I’ve never seen one that had window like this on the “second” floor. Quite odd, I think. Thumbs up or down?
