I saw tons of these signs around Catholic University. A bit ironic? Ed. Note: Obviously these signs are not affiliated with Catholic University.  I just thought it was funny they were surrounding the campus.  On Flickr Mr. T in DC asks:

“I don’t think it’s legal to discriminate based on gender like that, is it?”

Any lawyers out there?

I’ve mentioned the Old Soldier’s Home Cemetery before but somehow I missed Logan’s Tomb. Since there are many fans of the statue in Logan Circle, I thought I’d give the address of the tomb – it’s on Harewood between Rock Creek Church Rd. and North Capitol in Petworth.

I actually was initially moved by how many Unknown Soldier tombstones I saw:

There were dozens of them. It really is a moving sight. Since the economy got so screwed up I feel like the sacrifices that are being made by our troops overseas have fallen a bit off the radar. I think it’s important that we continue to remember what’s going on.

These are some badass curb flowers. It’s near Logan Circle and if I remember correctly also were awesome last year. I got much respect for the effort it takes to make something look this good.

“Dear PoP,

I love this door, it’s in Bloomingdale, just a block north of the Big Bear Cafe, and is on my walk to the farmers market. If you haven’t published it yet, I’d love to share it with your readers. It’s at Randolf Place NW and 1st St.”

I think I have posted this door before but it’s spectacular so I have no problem with a Re-PoP especially if it’s a reader request. It’s gotta be new to somebody. Keep ’em coming!

Well this has to be the most unusual addition to a row house I’ve ever seen. It’s super odd because it’s in the middle of the block. I can’t figure this one out.

Well, these storefronts at the corner of 9th and N, NW have been vacant for a super long time. It looks like Independence Bank will be taking most of them over. I’ll have to file this under better than vacant. But, I’m serious with this one, would you rather have a CVS in this location?

Anyone know if there was a fire in Adams Morgan last night?  Was it possibly for the movie being filmed?

A reader writes:

“Any idea what all the firetrucks on 18th street were for last night around 9:45? They were rerouting buses up and down Belmont.”
