DC Retro Boat – Violet, photo: Sea Suite Cruises

From a press release:

“Like something out of “Mad Men’, two classic fiberglass boats, circa 1958-1963, have been repurposed by Sea Suite Cruises, the DC-based party boat company, and are setting sail from The Wharf. Sweet? Friendly? Snuggly? Baxley checks all those boxes! He’s never met a stranger and wants to be everyone’s (and every dog’s) new best friend. Baxley enjoys being on the go: whether it’s walking around the neighborhood, socializing with everyone he encounters at the dog park, or zooming around outdoors, Baxley is ready! He does great with other dogs and is enjoying the resident four-year old dog in his foster home. Adopt Today!

Rambo might just be the most outgoing cat you’ll ever meet. He is talkative, playful and attention seeking. If you are doing anything that isn’t paying attention to him, he’ll do anything he can to get your attention. He rubs himself against your legs, meows or purrs or climbs where you can see him. The moment you wake up in the morning, little Rambo is immediately asking for attention. And well, he’s so adorable that of COURSE you’ll give it to him!

“Dear PoPville,

I have a question I’m hoping the community can help with. I have a friend coming into town for the Fourth of July weekend but leaving on the 4th. I am hoping to take her to see some fireworks, but haven’t had any luck finding events for July 1-3. Anyone know of some shows over the weekend?”

A couple of my neighbors and I wrote to DDOT asking if our alley could be converted to brick, consistent with other surrounding alleys. We had been advised that DDOT might try to shut us down using the argument that Hill East isn’t a “historic neighborhood” and therefore not eligible for brick, (more…)
