I live on a street in Ward 5 with no zone restrictions so random cars showing up is a regular occurrence that the block accepts as city life. But I wanted to mine the community here for thoughts about a vehicle that showed up and has been there for about a month now. It’s registered in Ward 4, about to expire. The damage looks like it was in a serious accident, it was abandoned on our block at 3:00am. The full joint statement from Rosemount Center and House of Mercy:

“We are pleased to announce that Rosemount Center and House of Mercy have finalized a formal lease extension for the current Rosemount Center campus located at 2000 Rosemount Avenue, N.W. in Washington D.C. The lease term is extended to August 31, 2026. House of Mercy also has granted to Rosemount Center the option to purchase the property at an agreed upon price, which option may be exercised by Rosemount Center on or before March of 2026. Rosemount Center will actively engage in fundraising efforts to support this potential purchase. Both Rosemount Center and House of Mercy are grateful for the continuing support of the community and are delighted that Rosemount Center can continue its mission to provide essential early childhood education and family support services to local Washington D.C. residents.
