“An Amazon employee, in collaboration with an accomplice, stole over 10 packages from an apartment lobby. The entire incident was captured on camera.”

“Dear PoPville,

On Friday, January 10th, an Amazon delivery driver entered a lobby in the 3600 block of Connecticut Avenue, NW, a cooperative residential building. Shortly after, a second Amazon driver followed, taking advantage of the open door. Once the packages were delivered, the second driver lingered behind and texted an accomplice waiting in a car outside. The accomplice then entered the lobby, and together, the pair stole over 10 packages, loading them into the car before fleeing the scene.

Among the stolen items was

a snow blower purchased by the community to clear walkways and the building’s alley.

DC Police were alerted to the theft later that evening and are investigating the incident. Amazon has replaced the stolen items that were identifiable and stated they are also conducting an internal review.

We are sending this to you to make the community aware that this situation is happening with a hope to reduce incidents like this in the future.
