Crushingly Sad News About Great Wall Szechuan House from Tim Carman: “will close this December.”

1527 14th Street, NW

This is a very tough one. Great Wall is always prominently mentioned when we discuss best Chinese in town.  On Sunday Tim Carman tweeted: “My heart breaks to report that Great Wall Szechuan House will close this December. But I’m glad May Kuang and Yuan Chen, the partners in life and blisteringly good mala dishes, will finally get the retirement they deserve. Thank you both for feeding us so well for so long!”

Back in February 2020 we learned that, the Great Wall Szechuan House restaurant was for sale on 14th Street but would remain open until sold. Stay tuned for more info on that front.

We’re about a month out from summer. That means you’ve still got time for spring cleaning!

Lexi Grant, an operations manager at Well-Paid Maids, shared her go-to spring cleaning tips with WTOP News. Step one? Declutter. Get rid of items you don’t use, find space for items that need a home and organize those areas.

Then, it’s time to dust. Lexi starts with high-touch surface areas (think: refrigerator, dishwasher, counters, microwave). One area she sees often neglected is the bedroom — and it makes sense.
