Stephen Starr’s El Presidente Starting to Take Shape – now hiring too

1255 Union Street, NE

Thanks to Zach for sending from Union Market. This is Stephen Starr’s El Presidente which is now hiring and expected to be open this year.

The Starr group will also be opening Pastis in Union Market (district) at 1323 4th Street, NE.

“The beloved New York City restaurant Pastis will be coming to the Union Market District in Washington, DC. Driven by two James Beard Award-winning restaurateurs, Keith McNally and Stephen Starr. McNally is the chief designer of the space while Starr and team focus on culinary and operations. Pastis features elements similar to the original such as the restaurant’s classic curved zinc bar outfitted with signature subway tiles, vintage mirrors with handwritten daily specials, and a mosaic-tiled floor. Guests can find the classic bistro fare Pastis is known for, with a menu that offers brunch, lunch, and dinner.”

Also slated to open in 2023.

STAY TUNED on both fronts.

Join local sketch comedy legends (in our own minds) Brick Penguin for an evening of live, dark, rip-roaring sketch comedy. See D.C.’s longest-running sketch comedy group do what they do best, when they’re not performing across the country in places such as the terrifying Philadelphia, the gooey Chicago, the M&M Store-y New York City, and the crunchy Seattle.

Now, our last show may or may not have mentioned Taylor Swift, and we may have gotten into some trouble from confused Swifties who thought they scored a $15 ticket to a Taylor Swift concert. So, to apologize and clear up any confusion, we’ve decided to dedicate another show to her. We promise she might or might not appear this time.
