“Dear PoPville,
Two days ago both a first line salesperson and then “supervisor” knocked on my door in the H St. NE neighborhood two separate times from MPower Energy. They used quite a few pushy sales tactics right away, said our neighborhood has been experiencing excess carbon emissions, referenced health issues from gas (?), and asked to verify our power source. I declined both times.
Apparently their “verification” includes them automatically switching your source of power and then charging you for this service, and this scam has been addressed in other cities.
Please put the word out that these guys aren’t providing anyone any valuable service and to ignore them/turn them away.”
