“Just wanted to put an alert out that he’s still out there.”

“Dear PoPville,

I had an interaction with the guy aggressively approaching women for coffee. I was walking to meet friends for dinner on 14th a little before 7pm and had just hung up the phone with my bf when someone stopped me to ask where they could find pizza. This was 15/Corcoran.

I asked what kind of pizza they wanted and they said new york style, to which I snarkily said good luck you won’t find that here. (I lived in nyc for 15 years before moving here.) He told me I “looked like a pizza connoisseur”. So I told him dollar pizza equivalent is on Florida and 18th, to which he remarked he had just come from there and didn’t want to walk back. At this point I was about to walk away and he told me he had just moved here from nyc, so I told him I had lived there too before moving to nyc. At this point I hadn’t put two and two together of who he was and just thought he was making small talk to find a good place for pizza.

He then said we should hang out and asked if I wanted to grab a coffee with him, as he just moved to Thomas Circle-area and he said his name. It was then that I recalled the various stories of a guy asking people to coffee and being predatory. So I said I wasn’t interested and he was like let me get your number, so I said no again, that I was late for dinner, and he still kept asking for my number, so I said I had a bf, to which he replied he did too, and then I was like, that’s awesome but I am not interested and walked away.

Just wanted to put an alert out that he’s still out there.”

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
