From an email:

“Reaching out with exciting news that ilili, The Wharf’s new Lebanese spot, will launch brunch service this Sunday, March 6. Introducing a wide selection of authentic Lebanese brunch fare, guests can look forward to a menu of hot + cold mezza, brunch plates + cocktails, and sweets.

New, not-to-be-missed dishes include Shakshuka with spicy tomato sauce, a poached duck egg, and feta; French Toast with whipped labne, honey lavender, cherries, and walnuts; Duck Shwarma with toum and pomegranate seeds; and a Lamb Burger with basterma jam, wild mushrooms, and grilled halloumi.

The cocktail menu offers options such as the Not So Bloody Mary with vodka, tomato water, and zaatar oil; the Liquid Camp Fire with Valrhon dark hot chocolate, creme de moka liqueur, and hazelnut liqueur foam; as well as the Demode with bourbon, cardamom, and old fashioned bitters – which serves four and is served in a smoked bourbon decanter. Of course, guests will also find ilili staples such as TabboulehBaba GhannoujFalafel, and Mekanek on the menu.

Brunch service will run every Sunday from 11am-3pm. You can find the full menu here and reservations can be made here.”

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
