Your Afternoon Animal Fix – AdoPtville

If you have any animal/pet photos you’d like to share for the regular fix please send an email to princeofpetworth(at)gmail(dot)com with ‘Animal Fix’ in the title and say the name of your pet and your neighborhood. AdoPtville is run by two volunteers who compile these pets weekly from local shelters.

Meet Bolt! This happy Shepherd mix is approximately 10 years old, but has a young and fun-loving spirit! Bolt did not receive vet care for much of his life and had some initial weakness in his legs, but has been doing great in his foster home, and now he LOVES to run and roll around in the grass! He gets along well with his dog foster brother and has a gentle demeanor, but has not been tested with cats. Bolt has the expected reaction to squirrels – SQUIRREL!! Bolt is an affectionate dude who loves to sneak a few kisses now and then! He will do best in a home with a yard or where he can have regular access to a park. Bolt is flourishing in a loving foster home and can’t wait to find his lucky forever family! Find out more about adopting Bolt (and other senior pets in need of homes) here: BoltandFriends

Sugar is just as sweet as her name suggests! This approximately 3-year-old girl is super affectionate, loving to snuggle during naptime! This pretty lady has likely had a fairly rough life, probably giving birth to many litters, but now she’s ready to live the good life in a loving forever home! Sugar loves sleeping in the sun and watching birds, as well as sharing love with her people! She’ll make a wonderful addition to a calm home. Find out more about adopting Sugar here: Sugar4Paws and see her video here: Sugar4PawsVideo

4Paws has asked us to let you know that they are in real need of foster homes now. Many shelters in areas with fewer resources are struggling at this time and our DMV rescues are lending a helping hand. Find out more about becoming a life-saving foster here: 4PawsFosterInfo

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
