Eligible D.C. residents can now apply for the 2020 Visitors Parking Pass

Thanks to Chris for the heads up from DDOT:

“The Visitor Parking Pass (VPP) program is designed to allow guests of District residents to park for more than two hours on Residential Permit Parking or RPP-zoned blocks. A VPP is only valid during the hours of RPP enforcement and in the same RPP zone and ANC boundary as the residence. The passes are not necessary on holidays or other times when parking restrictions are not subject to enforcement.

The VPP can be used to provide temporary Residential Permit Parking (RPP) privileges in the following eligible wards:

Ward 1 – all Ward 1 residents
Ward 2 – 2F only. All other Ward 2 ANCs have opted out of the program.
Wards 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8 – all residents that live on RPP blocks

Residents who live on a commercial zone block are not eligible for VPP or RPP. Non-residential address types are not eligible for VPP/RPP.

Approved VPPs are mailed every Friday via first class mail.

How to Register for VPP
To register for a Visitor Parking Pass online, please follow these six easy steps:

Step 2: Enter your address number and street name only — without using commas or periods — and then click the “Verify Address” button. (When registering for a VPP, your street name must be spelled completely out.) The street, road, avenue, drive or place can be abbreviated with no commas or periods.

Example: 55 M Street SE or 55 Porter St NW

Step 3: Find your address on the list that appears, click on it, and then hit the “Next” button on the bottom of the webpage.

Step 4: Enter your contact information. Include your first and last name, unit number if this is an apartment building or legal unit telephone number and email address as prompted.

Example:
* First name: John
* Last name: Doe
* Unit or apt number: Unit 2
* Telephone number: 202-671-2700
* Email: [email protected]

Step 5: Enter your DC Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV)-issued Drivers License or Non-Driver Identification Number. This number is 7 digits located at the top of the identification card.

Step 6: Review your information, click on the box next to “I certify that the information provided on this application is accurate,” and then click “Submit Your Request.” Once your request has been submitted you will NOT be able to make any changes.

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
