This Weekend’s Metro Track Work includes three Green Line Stations Closed

From WMATA:

“Reconstruction of the Metrorail system will continue over the weekend of February 12-14 with service adjustments on all six lines. Trains will operate as follows:

Free shuttle buses will replace Green Line trains between Gallery Place and Navy Yard.
Yellow Line trains will operate every 10 minutes between Huntington and National Airport only.
Silver Line trains will operate every 10 minutes between Wiehle-Reston East and Ballston only.
Orange and Blue line trains will operate every 20 minutes.
Red Line trains will operate every 6-20 minutes.

There is no scheduled track work for Presidents Day, Monday, February 15.

Buses replace trains between Gallery Place and Navy Yard | 12:01AM Saturday until Closing Sunday

Green Line trains will operate as follows:

Between Branch Avenue & Navy Yard: regular weekend intervals
Between Gallery Place & Greenbelt: regular weekend intervals

From 12:01 a.m. Saturday through closing Sunday, buses will replace Green Line trains between Navy Yard and Gallery Place. During this time, Archives, L’Enfant Plaza (upper level) and Waterfront stations will be closed.

Free shuttle buses will operate on two routes:

Green Express buses will operate between Gallery Place and Navy Yard stations with no intermediate stops. Please add up to 20 minutes of travel time.
Green Local buses will operate between Gallery Place and Navy Yard, making intermediate stops at Archives, L’Enfant Plaza and Waterfront stations. Please allow 12-15 minutes of travel time for each station stop.”

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
