“La Tejana is now a breakfast taco carry out by day and a neighborhood cocktail bar by night”

3211 Mt. Pleasant Street, NW

Last month we shared the news that “La Tejana is gonna open in the evenings!!!”

Thanks to Jax for sending an update: “Bar opening upstairs at La Tejana in Mount Pleasant!”

La Tejana shares on their IG: “La Tejana is now a breakfast taco carry out by day and a neighborhood cocktail bar by night

We’ve always dreamt of making the most out of our brick and mortar and expanding our operations to include a bar, and everything seemed to click at exactly the right time when we met our opening bar manager Jose Cox a couple months back. Jose is truly a bad man behind the bar – an encyclopedia of agave spirits, a cocktail alchemist, and a natural people person – the exact type of dude you want pull up to shoot the breeze with over a drink or three We don’t yet know what life our bar will take on, it’s a fluid amoeba of sorts, similar to how our nomadic pop-up grew into our now brick and mortar and has taken on a life of its own. We welcome this growth with an open heart and mind and are so excited to bring y’all into our space in this capacity ✨Bear with us as we work out the kinks, opening up a bar on top of running the carry out joint is no feat for the faint of heart. Grand opening is this Saturday at 4 pm!! Pull up for some cocktails and Tex-Mex bar bites. Puro pinche 956 cuh!!”

We’re about a month out from summer. That means you’ve still got time for spring cleaning!

Lexi Grant, an operations manager at Well-Paid Maids, shared her go-to spring cleaning tips with WTOP News. Step one? Declutter. Get rid of items you don’t use, find space for items that need a home and organize those areas.

Then, it’s time to dust. Lexi starts with high-touch surface areas (think: refrigerator, dishwasher, counters, microwave). One area she sees often neglected is the bedroom — and it makes sense. Heavy furniture is difficult to move around, but it’s important to really get in there so dust doesn’t affect your sleep.
