Breaking and DAGGER: After Almost a Decade, Slash Run Closing in Petworth

201 Upshur Street, NW

Ed. Note: Slash Run opened with great fanfare back on July 16, 2015. In 2018 it was sold to manager Christine Lilyea. Prior to Slash Run this space was home to J ‘n G Tavern and of course El Limeno and briefly La Joya Steakhouse. Updates when we learn what becomes of the space.

Thanks to Mike for passing on the super sad news from Slash Run:

“Hey good people / Slash Fans
Me and the employees LARRY, BRIAN, LILY AND CAROLINA at Slash want to say thank you for your patronage over the last decade through the pandemic and more ♥️ thank you to the bands who performed here with their whole hearts ⚡️as we get closer to the lease ending 😢I have decided not to renew my lease as it has been a trying last two years,

I hung on so tightly to slash because I love this place and I have sacrificed so much of my life and time with people I ❤️ to make Slash Run a special place ⚡️ I believe we have collectively achieved that. So we will be open for the next week – please come and support us and say your so longs in person over good beer, great burgers & killer rock n roll⚡️ the final Halloween karaoke is this Friday 10/25 8pm see you there …

Flashback to their legendary Jukebox from 2015.

Ed. Note: Sister restaurant The Runaway closed earlier this year in Brookland.
