From a press release:

“Renowned chef Russell Blue Smith is gearing up to introduce Dupont Circle to an approachable culinary haven with the opening of Alfreda, a heartfelt tribute to his late grandmother, the matriarch of his family. With this latest project, Chef Russell hopes to create a one-of-a-kind pizza experience dedicated to quality ingredients while fostering connections with local producers, guests, and staff.

In the heart of Dupont Circle, Alfreda will offer an inviting ambiance with indoor and outdoor seating for 60 and 30 patrons, respectively.

Chef Russell, known for working with Wolfgang Puck at The Source, is making a departure from fine dining, embracing the cherished tradition of pizza making. He is reuniting with his long-time collaborator and successful general manager, Evan Moore from Cut by Wolfgang Puck and the Source by Wolfgang Puck.

For Chef Russell, it’s “all about the dough.” He has worked through countless combinations of ingredients to provide the innovation expected in fine dining establishments, with the accessibility of your favorite pie shop. Alfreda will feature a thoughtfully curated menu, showcasing Chef Russell’s commitment to quality ingredients and the art of pizza craftsmanship.

Notable dishes include:
The Al’ (Red Pie, no cheese): A classic red pie, expertly crafted and priced at $20.
The ‘Freda (Cheese Pie, no sauce): A classic white pie for $22
The Alfreda (Plain Pie): A timeless favorite, celebrating simplicity and flavor at $22.

The menu extends beyond pizza, encompassing an array of salads and small plates. Evan Moore’s carefully selected wine list and classic cocktails perfectly complement the delicious offerings. Chef Russell’s dedication to quality extends to the use of a sourdough starter, imparting a subtle sweetness to the NY-style pizza crust, baked to perfection in a brick oven.

Inspired by his daughter’s diagnosis of celiac disease, Chef Russell will cater to diverse dietary needs by proudly offering gluten-free pizza.

Chef Russell Blue Smith’s transition from fine dining to the world of pizza is poised to be a highlight in Dupont Circle’s culinary landscape, promising a fresh and down-to-earth take on the beloved American favorite.”

For many remote workers, a messy home is distracting.

You’re getting pulled into meetings, and your unread emails keep ticking up. But you can’t focus because pet hair tumbleweeds keep floating across the floor, your desk has a fine layer of dust and you keep your video off in meetings so no one sees the chaos behind you.

It’s no secret a dirty home is distracting and even adds stress to your life. And who has the energy to clean after work? That’s why it’s smart to enlist the help of professionals, like Well-Paid Maids.
