“This gorgeous mansion on Logan Circle was built by Ulysses S. Grant’s son in 1877.

Did you know that the Union Army Commanding General and the 18th president of the United States was once pulled over and cited for driving his horse-drawn coach dangerously fast down M Street NW by an MPD officer? The officer fined and impounded the president’s coach! It seems like the district’s tradition of issuing speeding tickets goes a long way back.”
