Driving me crazy, pun intended, since 2007.
Thanks to a reader for sending from the Hill East Listserv – do not read if you are on blood pressure medication:
“On 15th at around C SE, I was driving home from grocery shopping. A large SUV was simply stopped in the middle of the road, hazards on, while the driver stood there and chatted with some people she knew. Totally out of her car, just standing on the road chatting. When I pulled up behind her, she gave me a look and told me, “You can wait.” I tapped on my horn, and this enraged her. She flipped me off, and told me, “Now I’m gonna waste time just to punish you.”
For the few blocks it took me to get home, she drove at about three miles an hour in front of me. I got a picture of her license plate. This is illegal, right? Is there anything I can do?
At the very least, if you’re someone out there who thinks you’re more important than anyone else, and that all of traffic can just stop for all you care as long as you get what you want, just know that I personally think you’re a selfish and inconsiderate person.”

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!
The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!
What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
