“Indoor competitive axe throwing” coming to Ivy City

by Prince Of Petworth — May 19, 2017 at 1:20 pm 12 Comments

I did not think anything could top Wawa this week. I was wrong. I was 99% sure this was a joke but the research skills of Eat DC have proven me wrong – check this out from a Douglas Development advertising flyer. You can see Kick Axe’s website here.

“AXE THROWING?!? SOUNDS SO DANGEROUS!!

n fact, an axe is one of the safest objects to throw (besides a marshmallow… okay, and a pillow).

Our Ax-perts will teach you the basics in only 10-15 minutes and then be with you throughout the experience to assist and help keep score.
Safety is our number one priority!”

In no way, shape, or form do I see this possible ending poorly at any point in time. Love it.

OMG. I now have a much better response than: “I dunno, whatever…” when I get asked what I’d like to do for my upcoming birthday
This does, indeed, surpass the WaWa news.

      LOL, Blithe!

What could go wrong? If they need an entertainment license, can’t wait to see the ANC meeting for this one.

  • KenyonDweller

Will they serve beer? Because what goes better with beer than ax throwing?

There’s beer and ax throwing at the MD Renn Faire every year, and no one seems to die there.

I just can’t with this week’s news: Wawa, now Axe Throwing?! AMAZING!

Did Axe Throwing in Montreal over Inauguration (Google Rage Axe Throwing) – so much fun and a great workout. Was thinking how we needed this in town – especially now. I.can’t.wait!!!
