235 seats?! This place is going to be huge. Either this is the best BBQ ever or they’re going to have a hard time filling this place and turning a profit.

I wonder if they have corrected their sign from Jenkins ‘Capitial’ BBQ since the last posting?

Ohh I love that they will have live entertainment! I really hope they will have an open mic night, I feel like DC needs more of those. I miss my college days of wandering in somewhere and stumbling upon an awesome band or performer.

Yeah, I bet those 2 am and 3 am calls are going to go over well at the Samuel Kelsey apartments across the street. I can see this liquor license getting torpedoed just like the one for Friday’s across the street.

Maybe I’ll be surprised, and it’ll be kickass barbecue with great bands performing, and I’ll be thrilled to have such a place few blocks from my apartment. But, looking at it now… I can’t imagine it surviving.
The misspelled signs and the lukewarm Yelp reviews (if they’re, in fact, the same as the place in Jacksonville) don’t inspire a ton of confidence. Not to mention that Kangaroo Boxing Club, three blocks away, apparently couldn’t turn a profit with great food and a capacity of about 30—this place plans to make it work with almost 10 times the number of seats to fill?

KBC had good food but their rude staff drove regulars away in droves. Shame they couldn’t hire more pleasant bartenders.
