“Dear PoPville,

I am hoping the community can help me learn the name of the amazing female singer/guitar player who is sometimes at the Dupont and Archives metro station. She is a young black woman with short hair who often covers Top 40 songs. I spoke with her for a bit today, asked if she was selling CDs (not yet), and put my name on her mailing list, but in the midsts of my fan-girling I forgot to ask her name. I am hoping someone in the PoPville community knows who this singer is?”

If you see her again ask her if she has a Youtube channel.

Don’t know her name but a woman fitting that general description (she has light skin) performs at Metro Center in the mornings once a week or so.

Yes, I was wondering if the OP was referring to this person. She (the one you describe, who I often see in the morning at Metro Center) is awesome.

      • I heard the woman singing at metro center a few days ago too and she was AMAZING.

I suspect you are referring to Emma G music. She’s great!

Not sure if that’s who OP meant, but is definitely who I meant. Thanks!

I think I’ve seen her at L’Enfant Plaza Metro too. I regretted not stopping to give her a dollar (I was running late) — unlike most of the performers at that exit, she is actually GOOD.

I know exactly who you are talking about, and she is destined for stardom. Not only is her voice amazing, but she has style too…

Original poster here. Yes – Vanny! I have seen Emma G at L’Enfant and think she is great as well, but I was inquiring about Vanny. Thanks everyone!
