Found a small caramel and white kitten outside of the Senate Square apartment buildings on Saturday night. Very sweet and obviously used to people. Had on a plain black collar on. White socks, dark eyes, and white around her nose and mouth. Skinny little thing! Please contact Senate Square and ask for the resident in Lexington building, apartment 1217 who took in the kitten until we find its owners!
Our cat, Woodrow, accidentally got out this evening around 7:15-7:20pm. He is a gray cat with black stripes. The undersides of his back paws are black with his left ear clipped. We live on Rock Creek Church Rd NW. If you see him, he is likely to be very skittish so approach slowly and/or please contact us immediately at [email protected] to let us know where you saw him. He is also chipped so you can contact the humane society as well (202-576-6664).
Hi everyone – I found this kitten darting onto 14th St. at Otis Pl NW last night around 8:45. When I paused for a second she came running to me immediately. She was so affectionate and friendly, and seemed to be well cared for but no tags or collar. I brought her home and called the Washington Humane Society, who came to pick her up since I wasn’t able to house her. The officer I spoke to said he thought she was about 5 months old and that she probably isn’t feral. If someone lost her they should contact WHS and I hope they can be reunited! Her information and a picture is posted here: http://support.washhumane.org/site/PageServer?pagename=lostfoundpet&AddInterest=1047) (scroll through and find Violet)
I’m not sure what happens if no one claims her, but this kitten is so sweet and very adoptable I imagine – in case anyone in PoPville is interested in tracking her down and adopting (a la Rickie from September 2014 – http://www.popville.com/2014/09/shes-been-renamed-rickie-short-for-frederique-in-homage-to-her-frederick-douglass-bridge-heritage-and-gender-bending-ways/)
Either way I hope she gets home!
I live by 7th & Quincy, and there is a very sweet black cat who comes to my window every day. He/she doesn’t have a collar, but it’s not skinny, scarred, or overly skittish, which makes me wonder if it’s just someone’s indoor/outdoor cat, or if it has escaped the safety of his home.
If I don’t hear from anyone I’ll probably start setting water and dry food outside, because I am a softy and it’s so awfully cold outside. But I don’t want to start double-feeding someone’s cat and then make it sick and/or fat, and I don’t want to encourage it to leave his home if he does indeed have one.
Thanks for reading guys!
Our 18 year old male brown tabby cat, Mogley, made a mad dash out the back door last night (usually only an indoor cat) and we haven’t been able to find him. He has been a part of our family since he was 8 weeks or so old and is an important part of our family. He has suffered from intestinal disease for the last year and is on a special diet and medications. If you see or find him, he is a friendly guy. Please keep him warm in this cold weather and give us a call or email to [email protected]. We are happy to reward your kindness.
Worried family in NW DC
Lost cat, Maverick, orange male, 8 yo, 15 lbs, went missing on 12/1/14 near Nebraska and Military NW. May not respond to name (duh, he’s a cat) and is rather self-protective. If found, please call 202-966-1018. Picture below.
I noticed this cat (small, gray and white with mostly gray on back and white on belly/chin) on Friday and think it might belong to someone. He’s still out there, and very timid but hungry. He was meowing when I came home just now so I put out a can of tuna and some water and he’s having a ball. Doesn’t seem like a stray, very well-groomed but no collar.
Has anyone been looking for him? Honestly might try to bring him in if nobody claims him, he’s super cute but very timid!
This cat ran into my building on Allison St NW near Rock Creek Cemetery on Tuesday, January 28 around 10pm. Appears to be a neutered boy, but I’m not 100 percent certain. He’s not one of the alley cats, and his ear is not clipped. Contact me at smack5099(at)gmail.com.
My neighbors indoor cat has gone missing from 7th and Maryland NE. Please let us know if you’ve seen her or have any leads for us! Thanks much!
