From a press release:

“Starting March 22nd, a Wednesday evening stroll past 14th and U’s Quarter+Glory, will likely result in head nodding or even a snapping of the fingers. The cocktail bar with a mid-century swagger is adding another element essential to quintessential American cocktail bars; jazz. Entitled: ‘The Savoy Jazz Nights’ every Wednesday evening, sounds of horns and drums will fill the air at Quarter+Glory. In true fashion, the weekly jazz nights carry a literary theme, very much like the bar itself. The themed evening borrows its name from The Savoy Cocktail Book, authored by American bartender Harry Craddock, widely considered to be the best bartender of the prohibition era. The Savoy Cocktail Book was published by London’s renown hotel: The Savoy in 1930, Craddock’s employer at the time, and included 750 recipes.

One of the Savoy Hotel’s bars (named the American Bar) is decorated with elements of Art Deco design and hosts live American Jazz each and every night. Quarter+Glory will embody this theme weekly, with a Savoy-inspired menu based on old recipes from the storied cocktail book to compliment the live, upbeat jazz series. While not on a baby grand piano like in the Savoy Hotel, guests can expect horns, drums, and upbeat rhythms from Q+G’s Savoy Jazz Band; a rotating, hand-picked selection of some of DC’s best musicians. The inaugural evening will feature celebrated musicians: Tedd Baker (saxophone) whose credits include Smithsonian Jazz Masterworks, New York Voices, Washington Jazz Orchestra and more, Kris Funn (bass); a Baltimore native and Howard University Alum who travels internationally and records with some today’s jazz greats such as Sean Jones and Christian Scott, and Quincy Phillips (Drums) who’s worked with jazz heavy hitters such as Roy Hargrove.

Quarter+Glory invites all, particularly those with an ear for jazz and palette for great cocktails, to enjoy and be a part of The Savoy Jazz Night. The weekly experience will provide a festive yet relaxed backdrop, and run from 7:00pm to 10:00pm every Wednesday night.

About Quarter+Glory: Since its inception in January 2016, Quarter + Glory has quickly transformed into a go-to destination along 14th Street in the District. Located at 2017 14th St NW, DC, the craft cocktail bar is right at the heart of the lively U Street corridor. Quarter + Glory enjoys a diverse and eclectic audience, and additionally serves as a venue to public and private events. Live Jazz is offered on Wednesdays with DJ’s bringing entertainment Friday and Saturday Nights. A bar bites menu featuring American fare offers staples such as a fried chicken sandwich, the Q+G Burger, and oversize pretzels. Quarter+Glory is open seven days a week and offers happy hour from 4:30-8:00 pm.”

For many remote workers, a messy home is distracting.

You’re getting pulled into meetings, and your unread emails keep ticking up. But you can’t focus because pet hair tumbleweeds keep floating across the floor, your desk has a fine layer of dust and you keep your video off in meetings so no one sees the chaos behind you.

It’s no secret a dirty home is distracting and even adds stress to your life. And who has the energy to clean after work? That’s why it’s smart to enlist the help of professionals, like Well-Paid Maids.
