  • All my friends in NY are super into these in the past few months. They make the ice cream on a frozen plate thing and then roll them up. Its fun to watch, no idea how they taste. That space is a little cursed. When I first moved to DC my roomie and I would go here 2-3x/week for frozen yogurt, though I think it wasn’t a Tasti-d, more like a frozenyo type place, but of course I cant remember!

      • OMG tangysweet! my female roommates and I would go and our creepy male roommate would ALWAYS try to tag along and we would tell him frozen yogurt is just for girls which was definitely bullying but he was so awful. thanks for the refresher!

    • If they put something in between the layers, say like spongey crepes or chocolate cake crumble this could be delicious. Though really anything with icecream is delicious.

  • rolls eyes.. yet another fad. Why would I want rolled-up ice cream?? Um, call me old fashioned, but I see nothing wrong with simple scoops and some interesting flavors. I give this space 1 to 2 years, tops.

  • I went once to Thomas Foolery. They just didn’t know what they were, and what they did, they didn’t do very well. It was a bar that specialized in board games and boozy milk shakes. We went once and ordered the boozy milk shakes, which came in powder form and they quickly threw them into the blender. Also, it was very awkward because some lady decided to host her 5 year old kid’s birthday party there, so the place was packed with screaming 5 year olds.

  • Saw a video of these on Reddit a few weeks ago and haven’t stopped thinking about how good it looks. Very excited, who cares if it’s trendy or not. MOAR ICE CREAM

  • I’ve been seeing these alllllll over Instagram lately and they look so good (I don’t know why but rolled up things taste so much better to me). Too bad it’s in a neighborhood I never find myself in or near– I’m not sure I’d make a special trip just for them.

  • I went to one of these places in New York, and it’s not for me. The texture of the ice cream is basically the same as if you let the ice cream melt and then refreeze it. It looses all its creaminess and is kind of hard. It looks really cool and people clearly love, but I didn’t think it was that good.

  • When did foolery close? Went there once a couple years ago probably. Reminded me of a basement bar. Even in my stupor I recall it being way too brightly lit. I’m pretty sure I looked like sloth with a deer in the headlights look.
