Progress continues at Swampoodle

14th and Colorado Ave, NW

A reader reports:

“Lots of activity at Swampoodle this morning. There was a big construction dumpster and the owner and his crew were getting rid of debris to clean up the place. Fingers crossed that it will open soon. These urns / flower pots are now out front and the cherubs look like they are done waiting do it to open too.”

  • Lookin’ good.

Don’t forget about Gold Coast Café directly across the street.
A nice renovation of the space.
They have coffee, breakfast and lunch sandwiches, plus they sell beer.

  • Yasssssssssssss.

  • Is there an updated timeline for opening? I can’t wait for it to open!

  • WOOH! Can’t wait for them to open!!

  • Did they ever get a water hookup?

  • OP here: Rocky, one of the barbers across the street, says Michael Stone told him he hopes to be open in September. Fingers crossed everyone. No word on the water hookup issue.

The sidewalks on the south side of Colorado are being redone today (finally)!

Gold Coast Cafe Doesn’t have a website but they do have a Yelp page for what that’s worth. CAUFS (Community Alliance for Upper Fourteenth Street) posts pictures and updates on their Facebook page. The owner, Alex, and his family are very warm people and they are open to suggestions!

And of course Delicias is across the street for some produce, dry goods, meats, cheeses, etc.
