Al Crostino Reopening in former Cause space in Shaw

1926 9th Street, NW

Good news for Al Crostino fans. And thanks to all who tweeted and emailed the good word. Al Crostino closed at 1324 U Street, NW (to make way for the new JBG project back in November. While Al Crostino has recently been popping up at Den of Thieves – it looks like they’ve found a new home in Shaw. They’ll be taking over the former Cause Philanthropub which closed at 1926 9th Street just south of U Street back in December.

As an Al Crostino fan, this makes me very very happy.

  • seems like a good addition to the 9th street strip. I only ate there once in the old location but would definitely return.

  • Interesting. I had heard from a coworker who lives in the Westchester Coop on Cathedral Ave. that Al Crostino (or at least its ownership) was taking over operations of the dining room in that apartment building.

  • This makes me miss 1920DC.

  • WELCOME AL CROSTINO! Happy to have them in my neighborhood and anxious to try to them out!

  • This is wonderful news! Al Crostino is one of my favorites — great food/wine in a warm and intimate setting. We had my dad’s 60th birthday party there last year and it was wonderful.

  • so happy they found a spot to relocate. Loved the ambiance and food of their previous place.
