New Southeast Asian restaurant, Doi Moi, Hosting Preview Fundraiser on Sunday, Aug. 25th

On Sunday, August 25th, doi moi, the forthcoming Southeast Asian restaurant from the team behind Estadio and Proof, will host a special dinner in advance of its public opening to support a worthy local cause. Guests attending this event will enjoy a selection of dishes from doi moi’s full menu along with alcoholic libations. A minimum donation of $100 per person (tax included) is required to secure a reservation. 100% of the proceeds will benefit Brainfood, a non-profit youth development organization based in Washington, DC.

“Our restaurants have supported the great work Brainfood does for several years. Its mission to help kids build life skills through food and cooking is an extremely important community undertaking and I am excited that our guests will have an opportunity to support Brainfood and enjoy a preview of doi moi before its official opening,” said proprietor Mark Kuller.

doi moi will offer three seatings – 6PM, 7:15PM and 8:30PM. For reservations, please visit doi moi and Brainfood kindly ask that guests do not comment on the dinner or service experience on any public forum, including all social media outlets.

  • ….. seriously? I think that’s a little rich to ask people to come to your restaurant, give a donation, and then ask them not to talk about it? I definitely think they could have framed it a little better. It just comes off as clueless that they can control the conversation.

    • Right? It says something about their confidence level–do they think people are going to trash them on Twitter? You’d think that social media buzz would be a positive thing for a restaurant that’s just about to open.

  • Well that’s a good way to get people TO comment on the food and experience on social media, by telling them not to. Tone deaf.
