  • Rental prices like this make me glad I’m under contract to buy a place.

  • That’s insane for a basement in Columbia Heights. I pay less to live one block from U Street Metro and have way more square footage (plus an extra half bathroom). And I only moved here a year ago.

  • I hope nobody pays that price to live in a basement in CoHi. I don’t care how nice the basement looks. It’s still a basement in a transitioning neighborhood. Ridiculous.

  • This is a bit confusing. Is it a basement in a row house or a ground floor apartment in a building? The ad makes me think it’s the latter but it’s hard to tell. Either way paying $1550 each plus utilities is ridiculous. You might as well get a studio in a better location and not have to deal with a roommate…

  • This appears to be a large Ground-Level (Basement) large apartment. Pretty sure it was a row house, but it may have been converted. Origionally, it was mostly below ground level, but the patio makes it look dug out. GMaps puts it look like they dug out the patio, but left a privacy wall.

Slightly pricy for my taste unless it’s really well done. Appears to come partially furbished (50″ flatscreen & Bose Surround System).

  • This doesn’t sound unreasonable to me. We looked at a two bedroom condo in a small building on Chapin and the monthly mortgage (plus what you would imagine paying for “overhead” and condo/HOA fees) for that wouldn’t have been too far off from $3k – so maybe a little pricey, but not THAT shocking.

  • For comparison: a 500+sq ft studio at Capitol View (http://bit.ly/12RqGRW) right down the st is going for $2106/month. Granted, you get a roof, a 24-hr concierge, a gym and a pool, but it doesn’t seem like an obscene per-person price.

  • What would the rent be in this area if it included garage parking?
