Crane Sprouts at Site of Petworth’s Future Safeway

Back in Nov. 2012 demo started on the stinky Safeway at 3830 Georgia Ave, NW. The hole has been dug and now the crane has just gone up. Thanks to Evan for sending the shot above and Claire for sending the shots below. And thanks to everyone else who sent emails.

Can we still call it the Stinky Safeway when it is shiny and new? Because that was my favorite Safeway nickname.

I think something’s wrong with your RSS Feed. A lot of the pictures lately have been rotated 90 degrees, and proportionally distorted.
