The 5pm Post – From the Events Calendar, PoP Picks…

Day of the Dead:

Casa Oaxaca
2106 18th Street Northwest
Tuesday, October 23rd
5:00pm – 11:00pm | FREE!

Celebrate this charming, mysterious and colorful holiday. We at Casa Oaxaca will be making our own Altar de Muertos (a traditional home altar to honor our dearly departed). Come and check out the display in our front window! It will be available from Oct 23rd to Nov 2nd.
Altars are made for the souls of the loved ones who have passed on. Though each altar is unique to each person, the premise is to honor the loved ones and welcome them back to this earth. Altars contain many different items such as marigolds, food, Mezcal & Tequila, pictures of the ones who are gone, sugar skulls, chocolate, incense, etc.

Bring your own decoration and experience this amazing tradition the way its done in OAXACA.

See all of tonight’s and the week’s events here.  To add your event, click the events tab up top and then click “add an event”.  You can add concerts, museum/gallery exhibits, fundraisers, sporting events, bike rides etc. You can add anything you think will be of interest to PoPville.

For many remote workers, a messy home is distracting.

You’re getting pulled into meetings, and your unread emails keep ticking up. But you can’t focus because pet hair tumbleweeds keep floating across the floor, your desk has a fine layer of dust and you keep your video off in meetings so no one sees the chaos behind you.

It’s no secret a dirty home is distracting and even adds stress to your life. And who has the energy to clean after work? That’s why it’s smart to enlist the help of professionals, like Well-Paid Maids.
