  It is well documented that the two were working on a new album of children’s music before Gaye’s death.

    My guess, too. I know Marvin Gaye was a DC native. Not sure why Chuck Close is there, except perhaps for the fact he comes from Washington (State).

  Wow, I hadn’t seen this one in years. They were a wonderful couple who lived in the area a long time ago. If memory serves, Phil was the name of the gentleman on the right.

  Either the muralist took creative license and gave Dr. Gates blue eyes, or it’s Chuck Close.
