Dear PoPville – New Metro Bus Seats – Pretty Sweet!

“Dear PoPville,

This is not exactly front page worthy but FYI, the D2 has new seats and they’re quite comfortable. Have not seen them anywhere else.”

Nice! I’m a recent convert to the bus (64 line) and haven’t seen these yet. Anyone else seen them yet?

  • I think they are also on the G2 and most of the newer hybrid natural gas/electric buses. agree… pretty comfortable!

  • I saw these seats a while ago, but I don’t remember which line (90, maybe?). I agree, they’re pretty comfy!

I’ve had the pleasure of sitting on these seats on the 42/43 line. They are very comfy

They’ve been around for 3-4 years now. Certainly more comfortable than the old plastic ones, or those horrendous moon-bounce ones on the refurbished older buses.

    • Yep, they’ve been on the 90 lines for a couple of years now. But good luck finding one that doesn’t have God-knows-what ground into it.

  • They tend to put the older/shorter buses on the D2 line, so I’m glad to hear that it’s finally seeing some upgrades! I think I may have seen them before on the 42 line as others have mentioned.

  • These seats have been on the 79 for a few years now. They’re fantastic.

  • These seats look better and I’m sure are more comfortable. However, the problem with cloth seats is when something spills or someone urinates on them (this is public transportation) it is impossible for them to dry quickly.

    • I agree – I want any form of public transportation to be completely hose-down-able and non-absorbant. Can’t wait for Metro trains to be carpetless!

      • This title should be “Dear PoPville – New Metro Bus Seats – Pretty Sweet! (Until They Get Feces on ‘Em)”
