  • This time around they put up a signs on Beach Dr. announcing that the closures would begin on Nov 3. And sure enough, I found out this morning that they had begun their closures a day early. Because… Surprise!!

It’s an innovation for them to roll out electronic signs to actually misinform us about the date. Generally the closures on that road are random and unannounced. Once you’ve come ALL THE WAY DOWN Piney Branch, you learn that whatever else you had planned for the morning, you’ll be c r a w l i n g up Porter Street to get back on your route.

Whoever manages the closures for that road should be fired.

  • The announcement may be late, but at least it’s imcomprehensible. It’s kinda like all the Rock Creek Parkway signage. You can only find it/understand it if you already know it and don’t need it. Where actually is “Beach Drive . . . from the Rock Creek and Potomac Parkway to Klingle Road, NW”? If I’m just being dumb, please chalk it up to election day funk.
