Mosaic on Irving Between 11th and 13th Looks Ridiculously Good

It has changed an awful lot since I first posted. A reader mentioned that the rowhouse section (photographed above) looks particularly good. Hells yes. Now I enjoy and appreciate murals all over town but I think this is the absolute best one I’ve seen. So cool that it was done by students. If you haven’t checked it out yet, take a detour, it is well worth the trip.

  • I couldn’t agree more. It looks great!

  • It looks amazing!

  • WOW! That is seriously one great mosaic and I say that as someone who is critical of murals.

  • Just to add to the chorus of praise, I love this mural. It makes me smile every time I see it. Just gorgeous. I also love the murals on the walls on Kenyon st. And I can’t wait to see the tile murual in the middle of the plaza at Kenyon, 14th + Park. I noticed that folks were working there after sunset yesterday, I assumed, to avoid the head of the day. Anyway, it’s looking really nice.

  • I live around the corner and the students worked hard in the blazing sun to get this up. It looks awesome.

  • I heard that this mural was done by a group a kids from the Latin American Youth Center. Great Job!

  • were the Mayor’s Roving Bands of Youths responsible for this? If so, I take back most past insults of said roving bands of youths.

  • The neighborhoods youth did this, with some significant help from interested adults. It’s a beautiful work of art and everyone involved should be very proud.

  • very beautiful! many thanks to everyone involved
