Door of the Day

This one was quite unusual. I’ve never seen a “door” between two rowhouses before. I guess there must be a little gap. It’s got a bit of a European flavor.

  • It’s a horsewalk, a narrow tunnel between the front and back of the houses. These were originally built so you could literally get your horse out to the stables behind a row of homes, although the more narrow ones may have just been intended to create separate access from the front to the rear yard.
