Not to jump the gun, but we’re now in the middle of summer as we’re halfway through July, which means back-to-school shopping and Redskins preseason games are just around the corner. If you’ve been avoiding your new home search it’s officially time to get looking, so check out some of our suggested fresh finds below:

  • When a $16M Most Expensive Home of the Week shows up, it’s hard to tell whether the rich have horrible taste or the plebeians just don’t understand gaudy wallpaper.
  • A nice townhouse renovation in Petworth has over 2,600 square feet and a great rear deck, even though you’d think they would edit out the port-a-potty across the street.
  • 4 bedroom in Deanwood is a “truly massive space with multiple entertaining areas.”
  • Your REO/Bank Owned Property of the Week is a 2-family home of 8 bedrooms that describes the listing as “house next door was converted to 3 luxury condos–sold for nearly $1.8M.”
  • This 2 bedroom condo is back on the market with an improved price.

As World Cup winds down, we start directing more attention towards scoring goals in the housing market.

The new inventory injection isn’t what it was a couple of weeks ago but we have 150+ new possibilities listed in the last week. Take a look at our suggested Fresh Finds below:

Even though it’s a holiday week, it hasn’t slowed the market at all. With 200+ new listings, a few fireworks and a whole lot of day drinking isn’t going to slow the red-hot market OR the temperature. Cool off for a few and take a look at our suggested Fresh Finds below:

  • “3 BR + 3BA penthouse residence available in Eastbanc’s newest luxury project” listed at $3.96M is your Most Expensive Home of the Week.
  • 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom at The K at City Vista — an ideal listing at a building that’s perfect for 4th of July fireworks-viewing on the community rooftop.
  • “Experience industrial charm in this spacious 2 bed/2 bath unit located at The Radius with parking!”
  • A gigantic Colonial Village 4-bedroom so deep into upper NW that Rock Creek Park is essentially your backyard.
  • It’s not in the newly-renovated condition we’re used to seeing, but for a 4-bedroom at this price in Petworth, a savvy contractor could make this place shine.
  • “This masterful renovation blends old historic charm with high-end designer touches” and we especially love the exposed brick strip in the master bedroom.

It’s another Wednesday and another week of 200+ new listings on the market which is good because we’re so short on inventory. Sit back and avoid doing some real work by checking out our suggested Fresh Finds below:

  • If you ever thought that the 1% has better taste than the other 99%, this $5.5M Most Expensive Home of the Week proves that wrong with different (and bizarre) wall patterns in every room–the only thing missing is a Twin Peaks Red Room.
  • A 3 bed/3.5 bath Petworth row home with over 2,000 total finished square feet and includes both off-street parking and a rear patio.
  • “Supersized studio in rarely available [DC] Best Addresses building” has a much more convenient floor plan than most studios in the district.
  • Your REO/Bank-Owned Property of the Week is one of those very rare, not trashed or dilapidated SFHs, but the downside is it’s listed at a typical DC row home price.
  • It looks like a tudor from the front, condo building from the back and an outdated headache on the inside, but this Most Interesting Listing of the Week could become much more interesting with the right vision and appreciation of the unique.

While many of us were likely distracted this past week by ALL CAPS everything, now that the Cup and the team is home, we can get back to our everyday lives starting today-ish (depending on how hard you celebrated at the parade).

There are nearly 260 new listings this week, so check out some of our suggested Fresh Finds below:

  • If you’ve ever wanted to take a shower or a bath and then immediately walk onto your balcony, this Most Expensive Home of the Week in Kalorama could be for you at the low price of $5.25Mil.
  • A uniquely shaped 6-bedroom in Michigan Park had offers due yesterday, but if you like it and your offer is good enough, who knows what could happen?
  • The Most Interesting Listing of the Week (says Petworth, but is clearly Brightwood) is a 5-unit condo building for sale, which means you could snag a 2-bedroom for yourself and rent the remaining 4 units, paying off that $999k price tag quickly.
  • On the edge of Petworth, an “amazing renovation! 5 bedrooms, 3.5 baths. No detail overlooked,” especially if you love quartz counters.
  • A 5-bedroom in Eckington needs a ton of work, but at the right price in an “online auction event,” this REO/Bank-Owned Property of the Week could be a great investment.

Only 157 homes have hit the market in the past week, but since we’re coming off of a holiday weekend, that’s no surprise to most. As we fully ramp into the summer market, we can expect that number to go up, but don’t remain complacent and get to looking today!

Check out some of our suggested Fresh Finds below:

  • A 6 bedroom, 3.5 bathroom Victorian only shows one photo and the description simply says “Beautiful home in Dupont Circle! Needs some work,” but at $3Mil, this unknown-looking home is your Most Expensive Home of the Week.
  • Recently back on the market and with a $50k price reduction, this “two-story luxury penthouse with beautiful modern aesthetic” is even more enticing.
  • Petworth rowhome has 2,100+ square feet across 3 levels with “recently remodeled kitchen, bedrooms and bathrooms.”
  • It’s not a foreclosure, but based on the apparent no electricity and toilet sitting in the middle of the living room, these are most definitely the Worst Photos of the Week.
  • It’s only a studio, but at $320k, this Southwest Waterfront condo at Potomac Place Tower is your REO/Bank-Owned Property of the Week.

The inventory keeps going up with over 300 new listings that have hit the market in the past week. We selected 5 you might like, so take a look at our suggested Fresh Finds below:

  • If you’ve ever wanted a 6 bedroom, 7.5 bathroom Colonial with a pool, (shared) tennis court and your very own Twin Peaks-esque ‘Red Room,’ across “3/4 acre of incredible park-like grounds,” then this $6.95 Mil Most Expensive Home of the Week is for you.
  • A picturesque single-family Craftsman in North Cleveland Park that won’t last long, so act fast since offers are due at 5 p.m. tonight.
  • This incredibly styled Petworth row home has everything you could want inside, but if I was buying, my only request would be to repaint the exterior to something less poop-green.
  • This 2 bedroom, 1.5 bathroom has 3 wood-burning fireplace, including one in the master bedroom suite and it’s only a couple blocks from the Potomac Ave. Metro.
  • Well, your REO/Bank-Owned Property of the Week (& Cheapest) appears unlivable at the moment, but at a $6k list price, this one might be worth a buy just to hold onto as the Barry Farm area inevitably undergoes major changes.

There’s even more new listings in DC this week, topping out at 262 as of Tuesday.

Nearly 130 of them fall below the $600k price range, so if you’re looking for a new home, get to touring before the inventory numbers start sliding in the other direction. Take a look at our suggested Fresh Finds below:

  • Listed at $5.75Mil, this “impressive 4,500 sq.ft. 3BR/3.5BA penthouse on 2 levels with interior design elements by Barry Dixon” is your Most Expensive Home of the Week.
  • Trinidad row home just two blocks from H Street has amazing potential in a neighborhood that has only seen increases in property value since the corridor development.
  • A 4 bedroom, 3.5 bathroom townhouse in Petworth that’s been so renovated it almost looks like a brand-new home.
  • The perfectly sized 2-bedroom on K Street has everything you need, including a community fitness center and a rooftop deck.
  • Deep in NW DC is a $230k 1-bedroom condo that could use some reno, making it the ideal bachelor/ette pad or rental unit as your REO/Bank-Owned Property of the Week.
