Was wondering if anyone has any idea what the hell this is? Had it randomly appear in front of my house near H Street Corridor the other day.”
Ed. Note: Looks like that will be a space for scooter parking.

Doug reports: “The day that Mayor Bowser closed Beach Drive on the weekdays, an enterprising DC driver decided this was a great parking space while they walked/jogged/etc. Pretty par for the course. Taken Monday around 530 pm.”

Liza sends from Columbia Heights:
“No contact information left — nothing — so strange — I wasn’t touching the cars on either side of me. Who left this on my car last night ?!”

Lots of folks have been asking about street sweeping since the initial suspension has expired. DPW reassures us that the suspension has been extended until April 27th. And for emergency workers who have to drive DPW says: “Suspending all enforcement but safety hazards. Blocked crosswalks, hydrants, etc.”
Should the public health emergency extend beyond April 27th – you can expect these extensions to follow as well.

Been getting tons of queries about this and I’m now told: “Residential street sweeping is suspended. No tickets for not moving your car in a residential area for this purpose.”
Updates when more detailed info is available.

A reader reported yesterday:
“Parking enforcement vehicle this morning [Monday] around 7:40am on the problematic M Street bike lane in the merge area (the most dangerous) on the approach to 20th St NW.
Oh yeah – nobody in the car – to even tell them to move the heck out!
Can I get $150 from DC? Haaaaaaaaaa”

Thanks to Rodrigo for sending from Petworth.

“Dear PoPville,
Happy first week of street cleaning! This whole entire side of Wallach Place NW is ticketed all the way down the block. Barely anyone remembers the first week until you come back and see that pink slip.”
Ed. Note: Fortunately those are warning tickets but the real thing is coming soon. From DPW:
“DPW will issue warnings between Monday, March 2 and Friday, March 6, to vehicles parked during the sweeping periods. After March 6, violators will be subject to $45 fines.”

Thanks to Joanna for sending “Diplomatic plates blocking fire hydrant.”

Abby spots this curiosity:
“Somehow, the Belgium Embassy has snatched rights to parking (re: very valuable parking) on 14th and K in front of our office. Their embassy is uhh…nowhere near here. Plz explain”
