“Dear PoPville,

Saturday (8/14) just before 7pm at Meridian Hill Park. I was sitting in the grass with my husky, wearing sunglasses, black pants and a salmon colored shirt. You walked by with your dog (tan colored, fluffy tail that curled over his back) and gave me a little wave. You were wearing your hat backwards, a drawstring backpack and a blue t-shirt. You looked super cute but you were too far away for me to say hi. If you’re reading this I’d love to get that chance!”

I was riding my bike on the W&OD trail last Sunday midday when a man flew past me on the left. He settled back into the right lane and I briefly drafted, admiring his killer calves. As he sped away he called out “nice jersey!” and I noticed that, stretched taut over his rippling back muscles, was the same jersey I was wearing but in a lovely blue-grey. Rapha-man, you raced up that hill faster than my voice could carry … but I’d love to grab a post-ride beer and discuss the latest in cycling fashion! Or at least what you do on leg day.”

On Sunday (8/8), my friend and I were touring an apartment for him on 16th & Irving and a handsome stranger was also waiting to tour the same apartment. There was a small fire in the apartments on Monroe Street, just off 14th, in Columbia Heights on Tuesday evening (around 7 pm). A guy named Cal with a sweet smile and very cute curls was stopped with his bike and watching the emergency response, so I got up the courage to go say hi. (more…)
