“The MLK Jr. Memorial Library (901 G St. NW) is great place to reflect on MLK Jr. this weekend as an alternative to braving the cold on the Mall. In addition to the gorgeous MLK Jr. mural that greats you as you enter, it has been recently renovated and is a must see for it’s gorgeous new spaces, outdoor roof deck, DC history exhibit, and stunning stairs (including a slide for children). “Today HIS Grooming (@hisgrooming) unveiled two new murals at Pennsylvania & 13th St SE honoring the late Representative John Lewis who was a client of the barber shop and lived in the neighborhood. The murals were created by artists Mark Garrett (@noirwar) and Dietrich Williams (@dietrichw). The larger of the two is titled
“John Lewis talks to His Younger Self” and the other pays homage to Lewis and “good trouble.” Read More
