Walking with Long Walks DC – MLK Library

Sara from Long Walks DC writes:

“The MLK Jr. Memorial Library (901 G St. NW) is great place to reflect on MLK Jr. this weekend as an alternative to braving the cold on the Mall. In addition to the gorgeous MLK Jr. mural that greats you as you enter, it has been recently renovated and is a must see for it’s gorgeous new spaces, outdoor roof deck, DC history exhibit, and stunning stairs (including a slide for children).

You can pick up MLK Week of Service activities and more general MLK activities for kids to-go, participate in a “What is Your Dream?” prompt display on the children’s floor, contribute to a thumbprint peace dove art project outside the teen space, attend the “I Am a Man” documentary showing and book raffle on Saturday, and listen to MLK Jr.’s speeches all day on Monday in the great hall.”
