Thanks to Joe for sending. Pitango Gelato opened up on Capitol Hill next to Peregrine in the old Greenworks space back in 2011. They closed their Logan Circle location back in 2016 but opened up a popular cafe in Adams Morgan back in 2017. They also still have a location in Penn Quarter which opened up back in 2010.
Updates when we learn what becomes of this space.

Trickling Springs D.C. locations are in Union Market at 1309 5th Street, NE and across from Eastern Market – pictured above. Unclear when their exact last days open will be. The Eastern Market location only opened last summer.

Eastern Market Main Street kicks off its Holly Days season on Saturday, November 24 — also known as Small Business Saturday.
On that day, over 30 of the businesses inside the Capitol Hill historic corridor will begin celebrating the holidays with promotions intended to foster local shopping and encourage investment in the local economy.
Eastern Market Main Street will be set up outside the Eastern Market Metro station on Nov. 24, from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. The first 200 shoppers to visit will receive a Small Business Saturday goody bag and free hot chocolate will be available throughout the event.
“We hope that by highlighting the variety and unique aspects of our own corridor, we will increase awareness of the importance of investing in your local economy and provide tangible support to our amazing businesses that extends beyond the holiday season,” said Madeleine Odendahl, executive director of EMMS.
The Holly Days is a 37-day extravaganza of events, festivities, restaurant specials and merchandise sales. Shops will be decorated with wreaths and garland, accenting the singular mix of the historic with the modern that makes the neighborhood uniquely distinctive.

Ed. Note: I’m pretty sure I was at Eastern Market on a Saturday but I think they said they’ll be switching back to the regular Saturday in Mount Pleasant, Sunday in Eastern Market schedule soon. I plan on stalking them regularly so I’ll be sure to update.

“At approximately 8:45PM a citizen was operating a vehicle in the 900 block of G Street, NW, when several suspects approached the vehicle. The suspects pulled a handgun and demanded the vehicle. The suspects took the citizen’s vehicle and fled without harming the citizen. At approximately 9:10PM this same group attempted to carjack 2 other vehicles in the 900 block of Pennsylvania Avenue, SE. The suspects again displayed a weapon and attempted to take the vehicle however in both cases the citizens pulled away and fled without being harmed.
The four suspects involved in these robberies/carjackings were captured a short time later and placed under arrest.”
