“DC Water today announces the opening of West Potomac Park Drive SW, a new road constructed as part of the Potomac River Tunnel (PRT) Project. Beginning Monday, November 18, 2024, drivers and visitors will have another option to alleviate the partial closure of Ohio Drive SW. The road provides an easy way to get around the main construction site in West Potomac Park, which will remain active until the project’s completion in 2030. (more…)

Just a heads up to folks, a woman knocked on my door today (Friday) and started asking about my Pepco bill. I was working from home and on a call, so I told her I didn’t have time to talk and closed the door. She had handouts, a vest, clipboard, etc, but the whole thing seemed very suspect to me. (more…)

I wanted to see if it’s me, or if there’s an issue when paying your Pepco bill. For years, I’ve had no problems paying via checking account; this is the cheapest way, as there are no service charges. I’ve been trying for two weeks to pay this way, and an error message keeps popping up. (more…)

We have solar power and produce more than we use. There is some meter glitch with Pepco and they started sending backdated bills for estimated usage (pre-solar!) a couple of weeks ago in excess of $500. Can your readers help advise?”

“Dear PoPville,
Our beloved miniature dachshund named Pepperoni was having difficulty breathing earlier today and at the recommendation of our normal Vet at Dupont veterinary clinic we brought him to friendship animal hospital for urgent care.
We were waiting all afternoon to hear an update from them and it wasn’t until the doctor taking care of Pepperoni called us from their personal cellphone number that we finally received an update about his status.
Whereupon we discovered that Verizon’s call filter service had marked all 50+ calls from friendship animal hospital’s publicly listed phone number as spam and were subsequently blocked. (more…)
