“Dear PoPville,

I’ve heard that Lyft/Capital Bike Share has drastically stopped rebalancing downtown and has discontinued endless docks in the mornings to push more people to use Lyft which generates more income for them. I think the city has partnered and cooperated with them a lot but Lyft/Capital Bike Share kind of appears to changing the model. Does anyone know if the city is addressing this with Lyft/Capital Bike Share? I’m an annual member and use CBS daily. I understand that patterns have changed since the pandemic but pushing people to use Lyft (and/or just giving up) feels a little like a bait and switch, especially after the city has been so cooperative. And if the riders have noticed where you now routinely can’t get a bike/drop off a bike certainly Lyft/CBS knows and is choosing to not do anything about it?

This screen grab (above) is from 9:45 this morning (Wednesday) but it’s a representation of basically every morning now.”

Thanks to Adam for sharing from Adams Morgan: “I get the whole having to lock up scooters thing in DC, but someone seriously had to lock their scooter to my car?!

Scrapped up and dented the side of it too.”

“Saturday at 1 pm in Trinidad. Apparently some person was “trying to parallel park” and somehow ended up ramming into the houses. One porch column of two houses were destroyed. Nobody was injured, thankfully.

Never thought to see something like this on a quiet block.”

“Dear PoPville,

Over the weekend my husband was doing some yard work and he saw a hipster kid (young adult) on a scooter stopped in front of our house. He opened his backpack pulled out a ketchup bottle and started spraying our neighbor’s car with what looked like watered-down ketchup. My husband yelled at the person and he wasn’t scared off until my husband started approaching him. This all happened in broad daylight.

My neighbor has lived in Trinidad for 70 years and runs a hauling business. (more…)
