From WMATA:

“Metro is boosting mid-week service for customers who use the Blue, Orange and Blue Plus lines during the morning and evening rush hour periods. As announced just over a week ago, service on the three lines will increase to every 12 minutes instead of 15 minutes from 6 – 9 a.m. and 3 – 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. From Councilmember Allen’s office:

“Recognizing the growing demand for electric vehicles far outpaces the current charging infrastructure in the District, Councilmember Charles Allen is introducing legislation to put the District on track to install at a minimum 7,500 charging stations in every part of the District by 2027, with every member of the Council signed on to the bill as a co-introducer.

As of 2021, the District has somewhere between 5,200 and 6,000 electric vehicles on the road on any given day, but only around 250 charging locations. (more…)

I’m one of those people who dutifully waits in the long line, while dozens of people try to cut it, which only makes the traffic worse. That said, I know the efficiency of zipper merges, and this basically is two lanes merging into one.

Is this “exit” supposed to be a zipper merge? (more…)

Thanks to A. for sending around 7am: “In the 395S this morning. Sorry can’t tell if it was MD plates”

From AlertDC: ” MPD reports all southbound lanes on I-395 at the 3rd Street Tunnel are closed due to a vehicle crash. Please use alternate routes and expect delays.”
