“Dear PoPville,

Feeling grateful for my dc neighbors! Today (Wed.) I lost my left airpod after getting whacked by the train door at Pentagon City trying to make it onto the metro 😭 I checked with the station manager at l’enfant when making my transfer and someone had turned it in! Whoever you are, if you’re reading this, you rock and I hope you have an awesome day! I got it back!

“Dear PoPville,

It’s bad enough we are all in 5 days a week, but now our commute times have increased drastically. Below is what I sent to WMATA. Anyone else impacted is encouraged to reuse the content to advocate for more efficient shuttle services!

###
I am writing to express my profound dissatisfaction and concern regarding the current shuttle bus plan for the Green Line shutdown, which is scheduled from August 2nd to August 31st. As a federal employee who relies on the Green Line to commute to the Suitland Federal Center, the designated shuttle service is inadequate and has created a significant and unnecessary hardship for hundreds, if not thousands, of employees. “Dear PoPville,

I was waiting at Metro center at like 10:30pm last Thursday night for the Orange Line train and a guy said something to me. WMATA GM Randy Clarke posted yesterday:

“Thx you @CMBrookePinto @AnitaBondsDC @CMFrumin @CMWendellFelder & @MayorBowser for supporting legislation to improve safety on @wmata.

Safety is a core value at Metro and while crime is at a 7 year low and we have had a significant reduction in fare evasion on rail. There is still more work to do, especially on bus.

The number one request we hear from frontline staff & customers is to have more security on Metro, specifically on buses. Council Member Pinto’s bill supported solutions that address these concerns.

We are disappointed and confused that there is not universal agreement and support to make Metro safer. Our team will never stop working to improve Metro for our customers and staff.”
