hahaha I spotted this guy this morning. To be clear this is not photoshopped (all I did was black out the numbers) there was a red taped arrow right on the car pointing to Maryland with the bumper stickers.  Just owning it.  I love it.

I needed this.

Thanks to Jenny for sending:

“I just witnessed the end of a strange incident. From what I could make out – The white car attempted to drive around a large truck on K Street, drove on to the sidewalk of Farragut Square, crushed a metal trashcan and then cut the truck off almost smashing into a cop car. I don’t think anyone was hurt. No idea what they were thinking.”

Yikes, thanks to a reader for passing on from DCFD:

“Update vehicle into building 28th & M Sts NW. #DCsBravest treated 1 patient on scene and transported a 2nd. Both minor injuries. No structural damage.” (more…)

Carter reports:

“How did they even get there? Tough way to start the new year. Between the tow path and capital crescent trail. No more picking on Maryland drivers until one does something worse than this.”

Ed. Note: Virginia plate.

Ugh. Meghan sends last night from Columbia Heights:

“Heard sirens and honking for a few minutes and went out to find an illegally parked UPS truck blocking an ambulance on Monroe Street. The driver apparently went and did her deliveries while the ambulance and everyone else waited.”

“Dear PoPville,

Mid-afternoon Wednesday, and at least *six* l delivery trucks and cars completely blocking southbound 14th Street NW bike lane between R and S. One was a FedEx truck, and I thought FedEx/UPS was supposed to stop this stuff after a recent letter from the city. Someone’s going to get seriously hurt. Where’s the enforcement? Where is “VisionZero”?”

Another reader writes:

“Today 11-14 at 4:30pm. Farragut and Arkansas NW. I live on this block of Farragut and this is so common here. Speed is a problem on both streets. Unfamiliar drivers with this intersection traveling on Farragut assume it’s a 4-stop…it’s not. DDOT did respond to me a few years ago about a 4-way saying “not enough accidents”. Brandon Todd’s office has not responded.”

Update from Council Member Todd’s Office:

“Jackson Carnes, Councilmember Todd’s Director of Constituent Services, recently did a site visit on Arkansas Avenue with some neighbors and is working with DDOT to explore safety improvements. Traffic safety and Vision Zero are very important to Councilmember Todd and he will continue to collaborate with DDOT on finding solutions.”
