Thanks to all who messaged about the van that ended up in the middle of Sherman Circle yesterday:
“Odd Sherman Circle crash from today. Incredible the vehicle ended up in the middle of the circle. Police temporarily taped off the area. Car malfunction? Thankfully, looked like no one was hurt.”

“The kicker is how far the truck made it into the circle. It ran all the way up to the center and hit a light pole. All air bags deployed. Park police had it all taped off and waiting for tow truck. This happened about 4pm.”

Thanks to Anthony for sending: “Just casually parking on the sidewalk along Mass Ave NW…”

Thanks to AL for sending: “Hey PoPville, saw this on my drive this morning on W street NW”

Thanks to Trey for sending from the above Brightwood Park: “I can’t imagine a more stereotypical parking job for this truck than being a foot and a half off the curb and six feet into the alley. VA plates. Been there two hours.”

Thanks to Andy for sending the poorly parked Revel above from Cathedral Heights.

So about that bench we looked at Friday – thanks to Annie for sending:
“You can hear the explosion near the beginning, and the crackling noise later on is the sound of the fire–from a block away!”

What the holy hell? Thanks to Sara for sending: “Stumbled on this car engine in the middle of the sidewalk on my commute home and what appears to be the remnants of a car fire/crash… ??? (more…)

“Dear PoPville,
How in the world did this happen to our alley neighbor overnight?!
The white BMW is always parked in what used to be a little protected parking space and the grey gate would swing open to allow access in and out. This morning it appears another car forcefully joined the BMW by completely smashing through the enclosure. (more…)

From MPD Tuesday:
“Tonight at approximately 7:15 PM, during a road rage incident, an aggressive driver brandished a firearm at another motorist on the 11th Street Bridge SE. Based on the rapid response by patrol and crime suppression officers, the suspect and vehicle were located near 3rd St SE and L St SE. With help from our K9 team, we were able to locate a firearm and arrest the suspect for ADW-Gun.”

“Dear PoPville,
This is the second time in a week (and umpteenth time this year) that the police have parked in our designated, residential handicapped parking spot. Not for emergency purposes, but for their convenience because we live across the street from the police station. The last time they did this they left the car in the spot overnight. I have at least a dozen other photos of them parking in our spot.”
